UKRAINIAN DANCE FUNDAMENTALS
The School is comprised of students ranging in age from three and half to adult. The Fundamentals of Ukrainian Dance classes teach basic skills and steps to children from four to sixteen. Fundamentals classes run once to twice per week on various dates and times. Our highest fundamental class, grade 7, dances two nights a week

Discipline Shapes Young Minds
Through focused repetition, posture, and precision, ballet teaches more than technique — it cultivates patience, self-awareness, and perseverance. These are life skills our dancers carry with them beyond the stage.
SYLLABUS FOR
UKRAINIAN DANCE
The Syllabus for Ukrainian Dance (SUD) is a fully researched and developed curriculum program that ensures correct advancement of dance skill and technique and enhances the dance training process by:
- Offering consistency in training
- Providing logical progression from one level to the next
- Standardizing the use of terminology
- Standardizing the style and technique of steps and exercises

SYLLABUS FOR
UKRAINIAN DANCE
Throughout the year, dancers follow a pre-determined course of study, including set exercises at the barre, from the corner, and in the centre.
These exercises are set to custom-orchestrated music.
They complement the learning process and contribute to the overall long-term development of the dancer.
Every new exercise and skill learned is like a fresh piece of a puzzle.
When the puzzle is complete, a dancer should have the technical skills to work at a high dance level.
In this manner, we ensure proper growth and critical skill development while providing students with a solid foundation of skills and knowledge in dance theatre, drama, and ethnography.
“In House” evaluations are offered annually. These evaluations build confidence and provide students with a sense of achievement and an indication of their technical ability.

JR. TRYZUB
Junior Tryzub provides the opportunity for dancers 12 to 18 to increase their level of technical ability and develop the skills and passion that are Tryzub.
They are the highest level of the Tryzub School of Ukrainian Dance.
Junior Tryzub performs at various events to increase their exposure in the Calgary community.
They rehearse for two-and-a-half hours, twice weekly, focusing on technique and building a dance repertoire, as a means for a seamless transition into the Ensemble.
